How to Install or Replace Leaf Spring Shackles. Surface: Powder coating. Remove the lower mounting bolt from shackle and spring then axle so that drops out of. Drop length : 4in.
Jack up the car to remove jack stands then lower vehicle back down. Using a floor jack, raise the rear differential of your vehicle off ground, Use jack stands under frame to support. Replacing a leaf spring hanger is rather easy. You should lift your truck with a jack and place it onto stands.
Necessary hardware included. Bolt the leaf spring to hanger. For Chevrolet C10/R10 1973 - 1987. For GMC C15 /C1500 / C1500 Pickup 1973 1987.
